Can't wait to read the next book and luckily i won't have to wait too long. I really enjoyed how Ramon became a major player in this book and we learn how intelligent and capable he is which you dont really get from the first book. The story moves at an excellent pace and I found I was interested in every characters story line.

I recommend the Moontide Quartet to all those who likes a well written adult fantasy book. What an excellent series the moontide quartet is turning into. It had been a while since i had a read so engrossing. And the deaths.and the fights.and the worldbuilding.yeah i liked almost everything. Set a few years after Moontide events, it was originally called the Lodestar Quartet, but for technical and aesthetic reasons was changed to the Sunsurge Quartet.

Review 2: Really a great book! The author definitely knows how to write a war. If you liked the first one, read this one. The setting and story is interesting if infuriating and gratuitous. Maybe I will revise my ratings upon reread, maybe I missed some hidden depths. Maybe it is the amount and the visceral descriptions.There were a few twists I did not see coming, which is good. I don't think that it is a good combination. I may just be being harsher because the naming convention annoys me but it the sex seems more gratuitous, and it seems designed to titilate, horrify and show how evil certain characters are. I like Game of Thrones, and that has sex, but this feels different. I can't quite put a finger on why this bothers me. If I knew why the author made this decision it might not bother me so much, but it just seems lazy and insulting to the intelligence of the reader.There is a lot of sex, usually violent, disgusting or evil in some way.

Hebusalim instead of Jerusalem, Hanu instead of Hanuman, The book is just full of these minor tweaks. more sy, but if you are going to steal something either let it be what it is or make it unrecognizable. I am fine with alternate history, and I am fine with fanta. The setting and mythology is clearly lifted from history, with only little tweaks. There are no Tywin Lannisters in this book, just Gregor Cleganes and Joffrey Baratheons. Maybe the magic system makes it so only arrogant monsters can rise to high position.
The European analog prepares for its crusade, and the Middle Eastern equivalents play prepare their own "shihad." Evil characters are evil and arrogant.The villains are a bit too evil/petty/unreasonable/monsterous.
Characters are separated and meet up with other characters. Review 1: I need to reread the first one and then this, I feel I have missed some things. A fantasy epic adventure, The Moontide series is projected to be 4 books revolving around the events of the most important ‘Moontide’ in the history of Urte.
